Full Bio

Keene Cheung is a San Diego native and undergraduate student at UCSD studying ICAM Music (Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts Major) and Business Economics with a minor in Computer Science. His research/artistic interests include human-computer interaction for music and multimedia performance. He works as a sound designer, performer, music director, audio engineer, and audiovisual programmer in various different capacities. Much of his compositional and design work explores experimental ways to express the physicality of the most primal human emotions and their environments. In addition to his academics, he is also a flutist currently studying under Professor Wilfrido Terrazas and has performed with several different ensembles on and off campus, such as the UCSD Chamber Orchestra and the Southwestern College Orchestra. Outside of being a performer, he enjoys contributing to the greater communities that have shaped him. Currently, he is serving the =1st Vice President of the San Diego Flute Guild, President of the Symphonic Student Association at UCSD, and Past President of the Chancellor's Scholars Alliance at UCSD. Throughout all these positions he has developed ways for young musicians and first-generation scholars to find their opportunities to express their creative voices and passions.
